Pujols, Rolen and Reyes lift Cardinals over Tigers

Scott Rolen's swing is back and this time nobody can rob his long ball. He homered to left at first plate appearance and doubled to right at third. He bumpped into Inge in top of 6th when he was waved home by thrid base coach seeing Inge's throwing error to IROD. Hope his shoulder is alright.

Pujols connected with a 2RBI opposite-field HR off Verlander's first pitch, a fastball outside strike zone, in 3rd inning with 2out and Duncan at 2nd base.

Reyes, former Trojans, pitched 7 shoutout innings (including 5 perfect innings from 2nd to 6th) after giving up a run in first.

整體來說 紅雀的砲手在第一戰發揮的很好
而在ALDS以及ALCS看似找不到方法封鎖的Tigers的打線
卻受制於rookie pticher Reyes
不過這可能是因為休息了超過一個星期而失去了球感
儘管可以期待Tigers的打線能愈來愈好
Reyes卻幫嚴重耗損的Cardinals' bullpen又爭取了一天
讓Tigers在接下來的比賽中reliever的優勢不再那麼的明顯

只要Rolen的肩膀在今天的碰撞之後沒有大礙
Cardinals其實在打線上是佔優勢的
Tigers是支沒有DH的球隊
因此在AL主場的優勢反而拱手讓給了Cardinals
讓Chris Duncan (rookie 22HR (280AB) .293/.363/.589)可以上場
他也敲回了一分 那分是在三局上的tie-breaking double
當然這個優勢在明天LHP Rogers出來投 也會消失
不過可以拿來DH的P Wilson今年打左投打的不錯 .292/.362/.496

至於接下來二三四戰的先發投手matchup
Tigers的優勢也不見了
